Course Medical Design Seminar | Mentors Ifat Keinan | Year 2020
We were challenged to create a system that would strengthen the range of motion and fine motor skills of OT patients at Hadassah Hospital. The system needed to be designed to work on the existing clinic's exercise table; while also being able to be packed away for easy storage.
The OT patient and their caregiver set up a series of clamps around the table edge according to their level of difficulty. The unique clamp handles offer different tightening methods that ultimately strengthen fine motor skills. After the clamps are set up, they start threading, looping, and twisting a string between the various handles creating a web-like masterpiece.
The various types of clamp handles ensure that every clamp is tightened differently; working on different muscles and fine motor skills
